Maruti swift expanded the individuals’ mind-set towards hatchbacks when it was launched in May 2005. It designed an all new trendy top quality section and the country immediately went crazy over it. It had impressive and groundbreaking car features such as car safety technology. Swift sets new requirements to contend against and never look back again. Concept S-2 was modified to present ‘The Swift’ with greater and better potential that designed new requirements in the auto industry in India. It was presented with an advanced chassis, transmitting and suspension structure.

Swift altogether has six models, three petrol versions and other three of diesel.

It has a ground clearance of 170mm. Body colored bumpers; green tinted glass adds good looks to this car. The Swifts gallant and trendy design forms a silhouette like no other car. The unconventional feature now stands enhanced. Aerodynamic lines along the body make it more fluid, sportier and more fashionable. The Maruti Swift is painted in six strikingly rich colors … red, blue, grey, black, silver and white. The features of its lights are also very stylish with conventional headlamps, fog lamps, LED tail lamps, clear lens tail lamps and a headlight height adjuster. The Swift has tubeless tires along with alloys wheels, adjustable ORVM, rear defogger, headlight washer are few necessary features.

Driving a Swift is a thrilling yet smooth experience as comfort is addictive in this car. It has bigger body hugging comfortable front seats. Even then the rear passengers get more leg room or foot space. It has a seating capacity of 5 persons. Sporty wrap around door trims, sporty steering wheel of three spoke, trim pockets at the front door, a glove box of high volume, parcel shelf are the features one can see inside this car. Rear door child locks, front and rear seat belts add to the safety and security for the travelers of the Swift. Amusement modules such as integrated in dash music system with CD/MP3/DVD playback capabilities, Bluetooth compatibility, iPod, USB & Aux compatibility with four added speakers.

The Swift was launched, in India, with a 1.3-litre petrol engine. Later, in early 2007, Maruti presented the Swift with a Fiat-sourced impressive 1.3 L DDIS engine and Common Rail Direct Injection technology. In 2010, owing to the new BS IV emission standards, Maruti changed the 1.3 L petrol engine with a 1.2 L K-series engine. Maruti launched the all-new third-generation Swift, in August 2011, with 1.2 L K-series petrol and 1.3 L DDIS engines. A Swift delivers maximum power of 87 PS @ 6000rpm for the petrol engine and a maximum torque of 114 NM @ 4000rpm. It features Superior Dual SRS airbags, Boost Assist System braking, Increased Torsion Rigidity. The displacement capacity for petrol is 1197cc whereas for diesel is 1248cc. Both the variants are of 5 speed manual transmission. The front suspensions are MacPherson Strut and coil spring while the rear suspension has torsion beam and coil spring

This finely chiselled piece of engineering art “Swift” became is without a doubt, India’s most exiting car, and it remains so to this day.
