It seems that Kia is like new and fresh. They have redesigned Kia’s sedans twice in the past 5 years. It is a compact car with surprising passenger space.
For an affordable car, it has some nice design to it. Usually this does not go together with the word “affordable”. The interior design is fabulous comes with heated seats, first time for this price line. Standard is a very nice radio system that supports most formats and sounds very good specially for this class. UVO with eServices is included!
There are many optional choices for this car, but they are probably not worth mentioning because this car is been bought for it’s low price and not for it’s luxury extras.
The EX has a 2.0-liter engine with direct injection, offering 173 hp and 154 lb-ft. The basic model has 1.8-liter unit with multi-port fuel injection good for 148 horsepower and 131 pounds of torque.
There is no hydraulic steering system on this car. Instead, last-gen Forte electronic system is included. I am not a big fan of those systems, as it takes you apart of feeling of driving the car. I it more driving itself kind of feel, and a lack of road feedback. At least they offer a few modes you can switch on and maybe one of them will be acceptable.
Kia suggest that the 2014 Forte will start under $16,000. The more equipped LX model will run in the $18,500 range.
