A few hours ago, GM has officially revealed at the 2014 Chevrolet Impala at the 2012 New York Auto Show.
On the exterior, the 2014 Impala gets completely redesigned. Include a MacPherson strut front suspension, sculpted body sides, LED daytime running lamps on LTZ models and HID headlamps. In addition, 18-inch wheels are fitted as standard, while available 19- and 20-inch wheels.
“The 2014 Impala re-establishes this iconic Chevrolet nameplate as a design leader, with bold styling that will turn heads for years to come,” said Mark Reuss, president, GM North America.
On the interior, the 2014 Chevrolet Impala gets new flowing design with a dual cockpit layout incorporates 8-inch touch screen display. New Impala features include 10 airbags, collision mitigation braking, rear cross traffic alert, lane departure warning, full-speed-range adaptive cruise control.
“We kept the stylized interpretation of the animal, and made the impala more muscular. We also added defined edges, to give the impala a sleek form and make it look like it was running fast,” he added.
The 2014 Chevrolet Impala available with a choice of three direct injection engines. The 2.4-liter Ecotec engine is good for 182 hp (134kW /182PS) and 172 lb-ft (233Nm) of torque. The followed by 195 hp (145kW/197PS) and 187 lb-ft (253Nm) of torque for the 2.5-liter four-cylinder. Finally is the 303 hp (226kW/307PS), 264 lb-ft (358Nm) of torque 3.6-liter VVT engine. All three engines come mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
