The 2013 Scion FR-S will officially start at $24,930 including $730 in destination charges when it goes on sale on the U.S. market this spring.
“We accomplished that goal with the FR-S starting under $25.000, a total home run! Add in Scion’s complimentary Scion Service Boost, our no-haggle no-hassle Pure Price, and Scion’s network of about 1,000 dealers, and the FR-S is a grand slam,” said Jack Hollis, Scion vice president.
Under the hood, a 2.0-liter four-cylinder boxer engine that develops 200 hp at 7,000 rpm (149 kW / 203 PS) and 151 lb-ft at 6,600 rpm (205 Nm) of peak torque.
An EPA-rated fuel economy of 22/30 mpg city/highway when fitted with the manual transmission. Opt for the automatic, and the numbers jump to 25/34 mpg city/highway.
Safety features include six airbags, Traction Control (TRAC), Enhanced Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Smart Stop Technology (SST).
