The 2013 Mercedes SL63 AMG was one of the stars at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show and the model is already commanding a lot attention from media visiting the stand, one that’s even better suited to our tastes. Mercedes said U.S. sales will start later in the year, with pricing to be announced and pricing starts at €157,675 in Germany.
On the exterior, the Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG dressed in a nice coat of matte grey paint. The features will include a new bodykit, 19-inch alloy wheels shod in high-performance tires, AMG-specific LED daytime running lights, a custom sports exhaust system and an integrated rear diffuser.
On the interior, the features will include two-tone nappa leather, carbon fiber trim, illuminated sills and ambient lighting,the glass roof’s tinting can be changed from light to dark. Options include Active Parking Assist, Airscarf heating, Bang & Olufsen BeoSound system, Driving Assist package and much more. Special AMG infotainment screens include a unique welcome display and a race timer.
According to Mercedes, the model has a twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 engine with 537 PS (395 kW / 530 hp) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. The AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission with four modes transfers power to the rear wheels. Propelling the hardtop roadster from 0 to 60mph (96km/h) in 4.2 seconds en route to an electronically governed top speed of 155mph (250km/h).
The optional AMG Performance Package increases output to 557-hp and 664 lb-ft of torque, the result is acceleration from 0-60 mph in 4.1 seconds and a top speed electronically limited to 186 mph (299km/h).
