The 2013 Ford B-Max was previewed in concept form at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show in March. Ford President and CEO Alan Mulally said: the 2013 B-MAX’s ingenious design and unrivalled technology sets new benchmark for smart, compact, city-friendly cars.

Ford has fitted the 2013 B-Max with sliding rear doors that integrate the central body pillars, a feature that is uncommon in the compact minivan segment. “Door systems like this have been a designer’s dream for many years,” said Stefan Lamm, exterior design director, Ford of Europe. “We have taken the concept from an idea on a designer’s sketch pad, to a stylish and versatile product on the showroom floor.”

Fortunately, the B-pillar has not been removed completely according to the rumor. New features include whose rear doors open at a 90 degree angle to make sure that the car offers the crash protection, the doors have been reinforced(ultra-high-strength steels that provide up to five times the strength of conventional mild steel in key parts of the body and doors) and notable differences are a reworked grille.

Interior photos of the 2013 Ford B-Max have not yet been released, it is not expected to change much more than the exterior has in its transition from concept to production.

The 2013 Ford B-Max will be powered by an assortment of gasoline and diesel engines with a displacement of under two liters. It’s is 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine, with its advanced combination of power and efficiency, will be available on the B-MAX, as will Duratorq TDCi diesels.

“We engineered the body to keep all the benefits of the new door concept, while making the structure strong, stiff and light,” said Darren Palmer, Product Development Quality Director, Ford of Europe. “Creating a strong, stable body is great for handling. The B-MAX is just as stiff as the latest Fiesta, and will be just as fun to drive too.”

The 2013 Ford B-Max release date will be done at the late of March, before sales begin across Europe in the summer.
