The 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander has released the first image and official details at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, and it will also be the brand’s first mass-produced plug-in hybrid.
In Europe, the 2013 Outlander will get both petrol and diesel variants for either the two-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive variants. The gasoline engine will be a 2.0 liter inline 4-cylinder, and the diesel will be a 2.2 liter 4-cylinder turbo MIVEC engine. Depending on which market the car is sold in, a start-stop system and a new six-speed automatic transmission will be part of the package.
Mitsubishi released vague technical details about it, saying only that it is targeting a range of almost 500 miles, and very low CO2 emissions at over 800 km (500 miles) and a target of below 50 g/km, respectively.
The 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander will debut in Russia before spreading throughout Europe towards the end of Summer. Followed by Europe in late summer, Japan, Oceania, China and North America.
