Many fans have been waiting for a while for Lexus to fully reveal its new LF-LC concept after weeks of internet speculation and photo leaks. The Lexus LF-LC has finally taken the wraps off the LF-LC concept at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show, a dynamic hybrid coupe that hints the future design direction for Lexus.
“The concept we’re showing here in Detroit continues the Lexus design revolution started with the CT and GS,” said Mark Templin, Lexus group vice president and general manager. “The concept hybrid 2+2 liberates the idea of a sport coupe and pushes the boundaries of performance, style and technology.”
On the exterior, the LF-LC have features a dynamic silhouette, plenty of curves and a bold interpretation of the company’s new signature spindle grille, L-shaped daytime running lights, and vertical fog lamps. In addition, afterburner tail lamps, quad exhaust and a glass roof.
On the interior, the Lexus LF-LC focuses on high tech contrasted. Two 12.3-inch touch LCD screens control the audio system, climate controls and navigation. The cockpit is spectacular with scooped side panels and a curved console centering the attention on the behind-the-wheel seat, a pop-up touch-screen keyboard is used to control the ICE.
Lexus didn’t give details concerning what’s under the hood, but we predict it will be powered by a hybridized 5.0-liter V8 engine which will produce upwards of 500 hp (373 kW / 507 PS).
