About a month after Toyota introduced the Aqua at the Tokyo Motor Show and subsequent a few days ago the 2012 Toyota Prius C launch its debut at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show. The 2012 Prius c is a five-door hatchback that is virtually identical to the JDM Aqua.
Under the hood, power comes from a hybridized 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine which is backed up by an electric motor, system’s total output is 99-horsepower(74 kW / 100 PS). With the highest rated city fuel economy, the 2012 Prius c is capable of returning 53 mpg city and 46 mpg highway. To do that thanks to owner a 144V nickel-metal hydride battery which enables the vehicle to travel short distances (less than a mile / 1.6 km) on electricity alone at speeds up to 25 mph (40 km/h).
On the interior, the Prius c comes standard with a series of in-car multimedia features such as the cabin has nicely equipped with automatic climate control. A standard 3.5-in full-color TFT infotainment display infotainment system with Bluetooth/USB/iPod connectivity, USB port iPod connectivity and Toyota’s optional Display Audio System with navigation and Entune systems.
Full pricing has not yet been released, but the 2012 Toyota Prius C will be launched in the United States in March and pricing starts at less than $19,000.
