Honda also announced the first details on its updated for the new model year 2012 Honda Ridgeline pickup truck. “The reports in the media that we have plans to discontinue the Ridgeline pick-up truck are false,” said Sage Marie, manager of truck product planning at Honda, addressing media reports that the unibody pickup was to be killed off.
Japanese carmakers, the 2012 Honda Ridgeline is now available in four models, including the 2012 Ridgeline RT, new 2012 Ridgeline Sport, 2012 Ridgeline RTS and 2012 Ridgeline RTL. Upgrades on all models include a redesigned grille, aerodynamic improvements and friction reduction measures in the engine. Meanwhile, the 2012 Honda Ridgeline RTL with the highest is $34,830.
Power for the 2012 Honda Ridgeline comes from a 3.5 liter VTEC V6 making 250 horsepower at 5,700 rpm and 247 lb-ft of torque at 4,300 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission with Grade Logic Control to help maintain the most appropriate gear when going uphill or downhill. EPA rated fuel-economy comes in at 15/21/17 mpg (city/highway/combined).
Despite consistently slow sales, Honda recently pledged that the 2012 Ridgeline still has a future.
