2013 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series has been spotted testing for first spy photos. Caught at a testing center in Germany, the prototype has a wide body kit with a modified front fascia, more power, more speed and attract more looks.
A sharper suspension setup, larger wheels and tires, and possibly more driver-controllable elements of the car’s setup are also among the potential upgrades. As for the body, the spy photos reveal a wider front and rear track thanks to flared fenders, a very aggressive front bumper, more pronounced side skirts, and a sleek, tame rear end. At the front it looks as though there’s a lower and sharper bumper bar and spoiler, while an additional central air intake has also made its way into the lower section. The front guards also seem pumped, featuring a more prominent lip.
With the power under the hood, rumors suggest the 6.3-liter (6,208cc) V8 engine could deliver 600 hp (447 kW / 608 PS) and 677 Nm (499 lb-ft) of torque. This will likely enable the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and hit a top speed in excess of 322 km/h (200 mph).
We don’t know yet exactly when the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series will enter production, but we will likely have to wait until sometime in 2013 for the official unveiling.
