In years past, the Mercedes-Benz CLS ignited the four-door coupe market and with the second-generation CLS, which went on sale earlier this year. The spy photographers the first test out of 2013 Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake on the road near the automaker’s headquarters.
Engines expected are the same as in the CLS coupe. The concept debuted with the 3.5-liter V6 unit with an output of 306 PS (225 kW / 302 hp) and 370 Nm (273 ft-lb) of torque. When Mercedes-Benz initially confirmed that the five-door CLS would go into production, we could be seeing it formally unveiled in the very near future, perhaps as early as the 2012 Geneva Motor Show next March.
The 2013 Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake was previewed as a concept at the 2010 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition and Mercedes-Benz has already confirmed the model will go to production. These photos were snapped during a testing run of at least two prototypes in southern Germany wearing just enough disguise to mask that new rear end of the car.
