Jaguar XF 2.2D hailed as fuel-efficient cars in its history. Previously, Jaguar company has put XF 2.2D diesel sedans in its journey from a factory in Castle Bromwich (Birmingham, England) to Munich (Germany) with a fuel tank. To date, the British car company has achieved his goal when XF equipped 4-cylinder engine with complete distance of about 1,312 km with 64 liters of diesel. Thus, the fuel consumption of the Jaguar XF 2.2D average at just 4.9 ltr per 100 km.
The driver of Jaguar XF 2.2D in the itinerary above is David Madgwick, companion is Alexander Madgwick. When he left the Jaguar factory in Birmingham, XF 2.2D run over 3,000 miles (4,828 km). “The entire development team is very proud of what has been new XF 2.2D. Achievements highlighted on the ability to combine performance and dynamic system of fuel-efficient new Jaguar cars”, Andy Whyman, chief engineer of the project XF, said.
Provide power for Jaguar XF 2.2D is the upgraded version of the engine block 4 cylinder, turbocharged, 2.2 liter capacity produced by Ford. This is the “heart” of Land Rover Freelander and Ford Mondeo European version. Accompanying ZF 8-level automatic transmission and for Stop-Start system, the engine produces 190 horsepower output and maximum torque of 332 lb-ft. Thus, Jaguar XF 2.2D can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 8.5 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 225 km/h. As planned, the new version with Jaguar XF 2.2D on sale in Europe in September next.
