This means that Explorer has now defeated many competitors in its segment in terms of fuel efficiency, such as the Honda Pilot, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Toyota Highlander and Chevrolet Traverse. “Whatever engine comes V6 or EcoBoost, 2012 Ford Explorer still head of the segment in terms of fuel efficiency. Currently, a large SUV, Ford’s third row seats have passed the Subaru Impreza and stand on par with the BMW 3 -Series of fuel consumption”, Ford said.

Highlights of the EcoBoost 2.0-liter engine is a gasoline direct injection system and control valve time independent (Ti-VCT). In addition, the emergence of low-friction lubricants, electric power steering and automatic transmission 6-speed help Ford Explorer EcoBoost also significantly reduce fuel consumption. “SUV buyers today are very interested in fuel consumption, so we decided to expand the Explorer with the new EcoBoost version”, Mrs. Amy Marentic, Ford’s marketing director, said. “Consumers deserve to have the opportunity to buy a fuel-efficient SUV and as powerful as the Ford Explorer”.
