Reports: 2011 Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen Upgrade
0 votes, 0.00 avg. rating (0% score)
According to Autoevolution sources, G-Class has become the epitome in the land of four-wheeled cult vehicles after over 31 years of continuous production.
Exterior re-touches will be subtle while the interior gets the appropriate upgrade to keep up with Mercedes-Benz cabin features and technologies. All European models will now meet Euro 5 emission standards.
Most likely, the facelifted G will be presented in Autumn, at the Paris Auto Show, which the autoevolution team will of course attend. A major novelty will be the addition of Euro 5 emission standards on all of its European engines, while the interior will again be overhauled to include some of the latest technology available on cars like the W212 E-Klasse.
New engines expected include Benz’s latest 5.5 liter twin-turbo V8 which will replace the normally-aspirated 5.5 liter V8 of the G500 in order to offer more power and better fuel economy. An AMG G 63 is in play for 2012, likely with a saucier version of that twin-turbo V8.
